Terms of Service

Early Access Notice: Shield is currently available as an Early Access product. Features, data coverage, and pricing are subject to change as the platform evolves. By using the Service during Early Access, you acknowledge that the platform is under active development and may have limitations. Your feedback during this period is valued and helps shape the product.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Shield ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Shield, developed by ABAOps.ai in partnership with Anchor Networks, provides automated domain security analysis and monitoring services for email authentication protocols including SPF (Sender Policy Framework), DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance), and DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail).

The Service includes:

  • Automated DNS record scanning and analysis
  • Security score calculation and recommendations
  • Industry benchmarking against 740+ ABA provider domains
  • Continuous monitoring and change detection
  • Email alerts for security changes
  • PDF and CSV report generation
  • Historical data tracking and trend analysis
  • AI-assisted security recommendations

3. Subscription and Billing

3.1 Subscription Tiers

Shield offers multiple subscription tiers with varying features and limits. See our pricing page for current rates.

  • Forever Free: One domain, basic monitoring
  • Starter: Enhanced monitoring for small businesses
  • Professional: Advanced features for growing organizations
  • Enterprise: Comprehensive monitoring with multi-client management

3.2 Free Trial

New subscribers may receive a complimentary trial period. The duration of the trial is determined at the time of account creation and may vary. You may cancel at any time during the trial period without charge.

3.3 Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. Payment is processed through Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. All fees are in USD and exclude applicable taxes.

3.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial months. After cancellation, your account downgrades to the Free plan.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Monitor domains you do not own or have authorization to monitor
  • Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or redistribute our data
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer our algorithms or scoring methodology
  • Resell or redistribute our services without written permission
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data

5. Data and Accuracy

5.1 Data Sources

Our analysis incorporates publicly available DNS records and industry benchmarking data. Data is updated periodically through automated scans. Update frequency varies by subscription tier.

5.2 No Guarantees

While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that our data or analysis is complete, current, or error-free. DNS records can change at any time, and our scans reflect a point-in-time snapshot. The Service is for informational purposes only and should not be the sole basis for security decisions.

5.3 Not Security or Legal Advice

Important: Shield provides email security analysis to support decision-making, but does not constitute professional IT security, legal, or compliance advice. Our security scores and recommendations indicate configuration status based on industry best practices, but do not account for all factors that affect your organization's security posture. Always consult qualified IT security professionals for critical infrastructure decisions.

5.4 Not HIPAA Compliance Certification

Important: While Shield helps identify email authentication gaps relevant to HIPAA risk management, the Service does not certify HIPAA compliance, provide legal interpretations of HIPAA requirements, or serve as a substitute for a comprehensive HIPAA risk assessment. Consult qualified compliance professionals for HIPAA-specific guidance.

5.5 AI-Assisted Analysis

Shield uses artificial intelligence to assist in generating security recommendations. AI-generated outputs are provided for informational purposes and may contain errors or reflect limitations inherent in the underlying models. You should independently verify any AI-generated recommendations before making DNS or configuration changes.

5.6 DNS Record Recommendations

DNS record recommendations provided by Shield are general guidance based on common configurations for major email providers. Your specific setup may require adjustments. Always verify records with your email provider's official documentation and test in monitoring mode before enforcing. Shield and ABAOps are not responsible for email delivery disruptions or service interruptions resulting from DNS changes.

6. Account Registration

To use Shield, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Ensuring your contact information remains current

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including our algorithms, scoring methodology, user interface, benchmarking data, and documentation, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works without our permission.

You retain ownership of any data you submit to our platform. By using our services, you grant us a limited license to process and analyze your data solely for providing our services.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ABAOPS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM:

  • Your use of or reliance on the Service, including any data, scores, or analysis
  • Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in DNS record analysis
  • Security decisions made based on the Service
  • Email delivery issues or service disruptions resulting from DNS changes made based on our recommendations
  • AI-generated outputs or analysis
  • Compliance-related decisions made using our reports

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ABAOps and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Privacy & Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Service Modifications

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or in-platform notification.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to access and use our services ceases immediately.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
